Outer Walks

Toronto as a city may stop at Steeles, or the Rouge River, or Etobicoke creek, but as a region, it doesn’t. Things that happen in Vaughan, Pickering, or Mississauga are part of the dialogue, are part of the Greater Toronto Area. While it may be unfeasible for me to walk around all these places in the comprehensive way that I walk and plan to walk around Toronto’s neighbourhoods, I still wish to explore areas in these outer suburbs as well.

I frequently refer to Scarborough, North York, and Etobicoke, as being the inner suburbs. Much of the GTA could be considered to be the outer suburbs then. This would be the regional municipalities of York, Durham, Peel, and Halton. Each of these is then composed of individual cities such as Oakville (Halton), Brampton (Peel), Oshawa (Durham), or Markham (York).
